Hello Colour addicts!!
We’re Back with our second round of challenges!
Thank you so much to the many of you who joined us for our Spooky Challenge. It was fantastic to see the creations come in and also wonderful to see you share them with us in the facebook group too! We’ll be back on the 14th of the month to announce the winners and share more inspiration!
Each month we’ll challenge you to TWO challenges. An easy challenge to whet your appetite and then a hard challenge to get you to explore new ideas and grow more confident.
We’re also here to encourage you along the way so if you would like to receive feedback on your project and advice on how you can improve – pop over to the Make it Crafty private FB group and post your project there where we can actively interact with you. Just make sure to let us know ‘what’ you would like advice on or you may not receive the help you are after.
Easy Challenge – Colouring Eyes
This month we want you to concentrate on colouring gorgeous eyes. Get in close and personal with your characters and make their eyes really pop! Add the finer details and the shine in the eye. Search for eyes on Google and try and recreate the look and colours you find.
Here are some examples to help inspire you!
Barbara has coloured Ginger here… look… is that something stuck in her teeth? hheehe
Faye has coloured Melyssa.
I just love the detail in those big blue eyes!
Jennifer has coloured Melyssa and has amazed us by unzipping the mask of her rainbow insides…
Michelle has coloured April here using graphite
I am sharing my image of April
Hard Challenge – Add a reflection to the eyes
The reflection could be within the pupil, or it can also be the eyelashes reflected onto the eyeball. You could get fancy and try creating a scene within the pupil. Check out the amazing reflections when doing a google search here.
Barbara has coloured Phoebe and has drawn a farm within the pupils. Wow!
I love how Nicoletta made her highlight not round to appear as though the reflection is buildings or mountains.
Michelle has used Ginger and you can see the reflection of eyelashes in the pupils.
Rhea has coloured April and I just love how she has done the eyes!
Now this is totally optional… but if you want to really go for it and push your limits. I would like to offer up the extra challenge of creating an effect like these >>
Michelle had some fun with this idea.
Pop back on the 14th of the month to see MORE inspiration from the rest of the team!!
