#43 Blades of Grass

JLJDesigns January 13, 2012 3

Welcome back after our holiday break!

Our sponsor this week is Make It Crafty.   The prize this week is a $20 store credit!

Our challenge this week is to colour blades of grass.  You can check out the DT’s challenge projects in the gallery.  Be sure to leave them some love!

All entries using a Make it Crafty image will go into the extra draw for a chance to win two single MiC digi stamps!  This prize does not include collections.

Please welcome our guest designer this week – Chris.  A little bit about Chris:

1.When did you start crafting and what made you start?  In 2008 with the intention of making a scrapbook. I soon discovered that I preferred to colour and make cards.
2.What’s your favourite colouring medium?  A difficult question for me as I love colouring with distress inks and pencils equally, they each have properties that I love.
3. Where do you craft?  On the dining area table.
4.What is your favourite MIC image/s?  I couldn’t possibly choose, they’re all wonderful and there’s such a good variety of styles.
5.Do you have a favourite type/style of card that you like to make?  I think my favourite type of card is probably one where the coloured image is the main focus of the card.

Here’s Chris’s fabulous card for this week’s challenge.

Please welcome our guest designer for this week, Angela.  A little bit about Angela:

1.When did you start crafting and what made you start?  I started crafting before my before my son was born and he’s 11 years old.  I started scrapbooking and then about 6 years ago I started stamping and making cards, but it wasn’t until I found images to color and then copics before I really got into it and then I never looked back.
2.What’s your favourite colouring medium?  My Copics and the Prismacolor Pencils, but I LOVE my Copics.
3. Where do you craft?  In my kitchen where I have to share my crafting space.  But I do have my own little space on 2 of my kitchen walls.  I also take my Copics and images to work and color on my breaks.
4.What is your favourite MIC image/s?  Oh that’s a hard one as I can’t even begin to pick any favorites as I love them all.
5.Do you have a favourite type/style of card that you like to make?  No, not really it just depends on what kind of mood I’m in and how much time I have to create it.  My style is all over the place.  Sometimes it’s simple and other times I add so much stuff to my creations.

Here’s Angela’s fabulous wall hanging for this week’s challenge.

Marianne Walke has a great post if you’re just getting started with coloring blades of grass.  Kim has a tutorial on Color me Copic.

All entries should be submitted by Wednesday, January 25th midday QLD Australia time.  All entries must be posted in the gallery to be eligible for prizes and Top Three.  Entries can be submitted up until you can no longer see the gallery available!  At this time the gallery is hidden so the team can place their votes for the top 3!

If you have trouble uploading your photo, reduce the size of your image to 600px wide or high.  If you are unsure how to do this, uploading your photo to your blog and then saving it again from your blog will automatically resize the image for you.  You may find these directions helpful:  http://www.4shared.com/document/8oDMazGe/upload_to_gallery.html

If you’re still having problems, please contact us so we can help.

This is a colouring challenge. You don’t need to make a full card/project.  You can submit a coloured image ONLY!  You can use ANY colouring medium – markers, pencils, paints, finger paint and even electronic computer colouring!  YOU MUST have coloured the image YOURSELF.

Have fun, experiment and enjoy the challenge!

Happy Colouring!
