Challenge #6 – Shadow and Depth

MakeitColourful February 12, 2011 3

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I am a little late this week. Let’s just say it’s been one of those days! heehee

I am so proud of the many of you who experimented last week, blending blue and purple together. I hope you enjoyed the challenge and found something new to take away and continue to try mixing colours together.

As per usual the winners and top 3 will be announced on Tuesday so the team have a chance to tell me their favs. 🙂

This week’s sponsor is Whimsy Stamps

Whimsy Stamps is a family owned business and online store located in the United States. We carry a line of whimsical and fun rubber stamps made from deeply etched red rubber and mounted on EZ mount foam. We also have a digital stamp collection with new releases on the 1st of each month. We’ve recently added an online gallery for our DT and registered users where you can find lots of samples using our stamps. We also have an inspirations blog with daily postings and product info and our featured stamper Saturdays!

I can personally tell you that I just LOVE Whimsy stamps. I have always had the perfect service, some of my most favourite designers are there and not only do they have digi stamps they have rubber for those who like to get their fingers all inky!

The Challenge!

We want you to add shadow and depth to your images

So try and make your images POP off the page.

For those of you who don’t have many colours I created a video some time ago to show how you can add depth using grey.

My example is in copics but remember colour is colour so you could try this with any medium you are using.

IMPORTANT !!
This is a COLOURING challenge not just a colour challenge.

Entries not following the rules will not be eligible to win prizes. If you are at all confused about whether your entry will qualify, please contact us first.

Inspiration Time!

Hi Zoe, just wanted to thank you again for an amazing video. The fence did look awesome after you had added all of your shading.
Beautiful cards by all your DT.
I did try to add a card to this week challenge but the little froggy is broken atm. I’ll try again later. *Hugs*
